In the early 1950’s video games were initially used for simulation, research, and testing, as with military strategy, NASA, and demonstrations. Video games then became popular in arcades and gaming systems and computers in the 1970’s and 1980’s. But for the better half of the last 3 decades, video games have taken quite a hard reputation as a negative influence on children. But what if video games can be designed to help individuals.
Video games can help develop the brain in a number of ways. For example an individual that has just suffered a stroke would need some cognitive, and physical exercises in the way of video games to aid in restoring functional capacity. Brain games could stimulate the brain for elderly individuals facing dementia. Bow Tie Kreative in the future could develop computer games, and apps that help with the development of individuals facing Autism, and other developmental disabilities. What if we brought video games back to the original intention, simulation, research, and testing. "I'm intrigued with the idea that in the future a psychiatrist or neurologist might pull out their pad and instead of writing down a drug, writes down a tablet game times two months, and uses that as a therapy, as a digital medicine," (BBC News, 2015). Changing the face of video games from a playground, to an educational ground. Bow Tie Kreative is about building independence, and providing solutions to companies, and individuals looking for empowerment and growth.
